The GW AMA and the AU Marketing Club are holding a joint mixer on April 4th at Brixton on U St from 5-8 pm. This is an opportunity for students from both schools who are interested in marketing to share their interests, internship & job leads, as well as meet representatives from DC professional marketing organizations AMA DC and Ad2DC. Appetizers will be hosted.

Of course, the most stereotypical career path for MBA students is in finance, and there are finance jobs for MBAs with a sustainability bent. A new, greener trend is sprouting in the financial field — socially responsible investing. Investment firms such as Fidelity and Vanguard offer special funds that only invest in businesses with environmentally friendly or socially responsible practices.

“[Firms] pay a lot of attention to the environmental and social responsibility issues,” Rivera says. “They need MBAs who know about environmental management to know where to invest.”

Eugenia Gregorio, 33, says she’s discovered her sustainability degree can lead to more jobs than she thought possible.

David Fowler Career Center, the International Honor Society Washington, D.C. and the Area Alumni Chapter Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) are co-hosting a panel open to Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students.  Join a panel of experts from leading consulting firms in various disciplines including financial advisory, IT, public policy, and regulatory compliance.
The panelists will include consulting professionals from Capital Performance Group LLC, Deloitte Consulting, PFM Consulting, SAP National Security Services.
The event will take place Wednesday March 20th, 2013 in Duques Hall, Room 451.
