GW Business Plan Competition is now GW New Venture Competition!

Open to GW students, faculty, staff and alumni, the Competition was created in 2009 to give GW constituents a real-world, experiential learning opportunity in entrepreneurship. It is also designed to foster an entrepreneurial climate at GW and allow Competition winners to actually launch and operate their ventures while maintaining complete control of their business through the issuance of non-dilutive cash grants.

The GW New Venture Competition is the fifth largest collegiate business plan competition in the country!

ELF 2015 Business Case Competition!

The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and The Executive Leadership Foundation (ELF) are pleased to announce the ELF 2015 Business Case Competition.  This year’s competition will challenge teams to be innovative and develop a new petroleum product or petroleum based service offering. Thanks to the support of The Exxon Mobil Corporation, the corporate sponsor, $70,000 in scholarship prizes will be awarded.

2014 Pitch George Competition – Pitch Workshop, NEXT Monday, October 13th, 6PM

This year we are also happy to announce that we will be re-opening our High School track to allow students from all High Schools in DC and surrounding areas to participate! The first place high school team will receive $800 towards their new venture!

2014 GE ECLP Mid-Atlantic Regional Case Competition on November 14; register by October 3rd, noon

GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) invites first-year GMBA students to participate in the 2014 ECLP Mid-Atlantic Regional Case Competition on November 14! The winner of this regional competition will receive:

  • A $3000 cash prize
  • The opportunity to interview for the GE ECLP 2015 Summer Associate program
  • The opportunity to network with GE Leaders and current ECLPs
  • Inclusion in a resume book that will be distributed to GE Leadership and ECLP Program Managers

To qualify for the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Regional Case Competition, GMBA students must:

1. Submit their desired teams and express their interest by completing the online form (http://gwu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_8xkGl79Sxhfi8Ul) due by Friday, October 3rd at noon. Teams are composed of 3-4 first-year GMBA students.

2. Participate in an internal round on-campus. Each team will receive a case on Friday, October 3 and will present to GWSB Faculty/Staff Judges during the week of Oct 6 – Oct 10.

3. Advance as the one (1) team from the internal round, making them eligible to represent GWSB in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Case Competition, held at GWSB on Nov 14.

Other Details:

  • Schools participating in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Case Competition: Emory, UVA, Georgetown, and Wake Forest
  • The GE ECLP case will be a C-level business strategy scenario
  • Presentation length for both the preliminary round and final round require a 15 minute pitch and 10 minutes for judges’ Q&A
  • Selected team must participate in a pre-competition conference call 1 week prior to th competition date. At least one member must be in attendance.
